Staff Immunisation

Many jobs require that staff receive immunisation to protect them from infectious disease. A vaccination clinic can be arranged at the employee's workplace to administer the necessary vaccines.

A full risk assessment is conducted before vaccination schedules are identified. Vaccine schedules will be in line with up-to-date Department of Health guidelines as contained in the latest publication of "Immunisation against Infectious Disease".

Occupations that may require vaccinations will include:

  • Healthcare Workers: Patient care workers, nurses, doctors, dentists, midwives, paramedics, allied healthcare professionals
  • Laboratory Staff
  • Hospital Porters
  • Pathology Staff
  • Staff groups that handle specimens
  • Mortuary Staff
  • Academic or commercial research laboratory workers
  • Staff working with imported animals or animal products
  • Sewage Workers
  • Food Packagers and Handlers
  • Funeral Directors and Embalmers
  • Workers in residential care homes or other long-stay facilities
  • Prison Officers
  • Police Officers
  • Customs Officers
